Thanks I have visited NYC every year since! It's my favourite city in the world. Why it's such a wonderful city isn't something you can explain to someone who's never been there. And some people just don't "get it". They complain it's too noisy, too many people, etc. Yes, it's a city, you tend to get noise and people in a city. But to me they're pretty small-minded and really don't get or appreciate the bigger picture. "I'm always disappointed when a liar's pants don't actually catch on fire..."

67 people from the UK, perished needlessly that day... so... it was an emotional loss and blow felt around the globe. I had flown from NYC to Los Angeles on September 4th for my grand mothers funeral. One of my best friends sister called him in tear saying she thought I might have been on one of the planes. She was off by a week. Just confused by all the chaos. Thanks for sharing. NYC is my home town and it's an amazingly interesting place. I'm glad you decided to go. I had been out shopping, picking up some last minute holiday clothes and some more sunblock. I arrived at my friend's house. She immediately asked me "Have you heard the news?!" I replied "What news?" as she quite literally dragged me into her house and showed me was was unfolding on the television. This was just after the first plane had hit, but not the second. We sat there until late into the evening in shock, in tears at what we were witnessing. It's a day we'll never forget. Oh, and those holiday clothes and sunblock I was buying for my holiday? It was for my first trip to New York City exactly a week after 9/11. We postponed our holiday until the following year. It didn't seem right to visit a city that was in mourning. "I'm always disappointed when a liar's pants don't actually catch on fire..."
