 11 weeks and you have grown years. I know it is hard to watch your dad fade like he is. Even worse to see the people who stood over you most of your life and now they are shells of their former selves. Makes you have to re-evaluate yourself and interestingly, these people who gave you little credit or kudos are now turning to you for help. You are so much stronger than you were ever given credit for. Regardless of how this all plays out, you will emerge a better person. Hugs.

11 weeks of pure hell it seems. Yup made me stop and think.....my dad picked a hell of a time to put me in charge and by doing so telling me he trusts me to take care of things. My shrink says the same thing about me coming out of this a stronger person.....so does DB.

Mom and I have a meeting today with the doctor. Something about not being able to put the trach back in due to it not being healed enough from the last one and so it could damage the blood vessels and arteries and such, so need to explain that exactly and talk alternatives.....so is really scary....they never had us do a sit down meeting with the doctors before.

It's finally hitting me, pnuemonia in Dad's condition is NOT a good thing at all.....and so it's finally sinking in we could loose him over this.
