Fancy, I'm not sure how prepared you can get. My wife suffered and eventually died from cancer. It was during the last five months that she realized she wasn't going to beat it and she told me and the kids.
She did her best to prepare us for her not being around and I thought I had readied myself too. But one never does. Just enjoy the time your sharing with him. Relish each moment. Reminisce the life long memories you've shared. Take care.

All valid thoughts girl. And here is another thing for you to ponder – quality of life. Any more it seems as a culture were all about length of life, but at what cost? Would you rather Dad have 6 good months, or two years of constant struggle? Not a fun thing to think about, but surely worthy of consideration.

HUGE HUG, it ain't gonna be easy whichever way you all go.

In all honesty, I hope it happens fast. I have prayed for that since the day of his accident. The toll this has taken on everyone has been tremendous. He has suffered so much. Hugs friend.

There is a difference between a good BJ and a bad BJ.

Thanks, yeah for now I'm choosing to believe I'm prepared....mostly because I accepted that we would loose my Dad the day of his accident, and then again when he got the first bout of pneumonia, so yeah for now I'm prepared.....doesn't mean I won't become a basket case when it happens though.

Yeah that's my thoughts exactly. I've already told my Mom that if the oncologist says there's really nothing we can do that Dad is going to get to eat anything he wants, and enjoy his life until the end. Though I'm not sure how long that'll be, he already spends a lot of his day sleeping, and it doesn't take much to wear him out on the days he does have energy.

Nothing is ever easy that's for sure. *sighs*

I have your number unless you changed it. For now I can barely keep up with people through here....I hardly ever get to call anyone let alone go meet with them for a few moments.

Thanks friend.....I have also hoped that whatever happens it happens quickly from day 1. I've been told that is very selfish of me, but while that's a valid comment as there's always a bit of selfishness to such things, mostly I am thinking of Dad not suffering...which I think he is suffering even with the paralysis because he can't be up and on the go like he did before, and Mom's suffering of seeing her husband wither away in front of her....that is going to kill her.

Dad has been through the proverbial ringer that's for sure. I feel like I've had a ring side seat to it all.
