Winter Sky

I step out of the car, and close the door, looking up as I do. The air is crisp and the stars are out, as is the full moon. The moon light bounces off of the snow, and everything glitters in the moons reflection. The stars sparkle in the sky, something I haven't seen in about 2 years. I take a deep breath and take in the beauty of the cool winter night in Vermont. It is a sight that I miss, and can't wait to see again.
I look around at the snow-covered field and towards the trees. Such a wonderous site. Winter in Vermont. It brings a tear of joy to me, and I turn, and walk to my daughters house, and inside.
Later that night, I wake around 3 AM. It is hot inside my room, so I cover the registers and crack open a window. I sit on the floor, feeling the cool air and smelling the freshness of it all. My 's cat joins me, in our midnight time of enjoying winter's finest. I sit there with a cat in my lap and look up at the sky and the moon, which has moved across the sky.
Oh, how I miss being able to do that. Next year, next year......

I can picture the evening so well. I feel like you took me there. Very nice!

Be good!

Thank you Steel.

What I wrote doesn't do justice to what I felt that night. The funny thing is, I have felt that way since I was a kid, that depth of awe and wonder. I will try to write more in the future, and more about the good things in life.
