The first time....

I was just thinking about how we lose interest with things and people quickly...sad...but true...

The first time we spoke, you were so nervous, you stuttered...
Now...you can string together 5-6 syllabic words to tell me off...

The first time I touched your shoulder, you had goose pimples...
Now...you ask if I'd washed my hands...

The first time I chose a movie for us to watch, you said I have great taste and the theme was so profound...
Now...you say we waste money and time on a movie where you had no idea what was going on...

The first time you touch my face, your hands trembled...
Now...I don't know...you haven't touched my face in a few years....

The first time we kissed, your knees buckled and you fought for breath...
Now...you brush your lips on mine without closing your eyes and call it a kiss...

The first time we made love, you sighed in contentment and said you can do this everyday...
Now...you say you have a headache even when I'm undressing for a shower...

The first time I smoked in front of you, you pulled me into your room, saying that the smell reminded you of me...
Now...two hours after my last smoke, you still complain that my breath smells of cigarette...

The first time you came a few minutes late for our date, you apologised profusely...
Now...I can wait an hour before you call to tell me you are somewhere else, and I should go home by myself...

The first time you watched me play football, your eyes sparkled and you told me how much you enjoy watching me work up a sweat...
Now...you have no time to join us because, my friends are arseholes you cannot stand, and football is such a stupid game anyway...

The first time I drove you around, you said I am an excellent driver...
Now...you talk to me about the cars in front, the cars beside us, I'm going too fast, I'm going too slow, I'm in the wrong lane, the boy crossing the street, the cyclist around the corner and even the way I should park...

The first time I fumbled and dropped my phone, you smiled and said it was adorable...
Now...you roll your eyes, shake your head and curse under your breath...

The first time I brought you flowers, you wept with happiness...
Now...You simply ask me what I've done wrong this time...

The first time I was introduced to your friends, I forgot their names and you teasingly said I wasn't interested...
Now...when I ask after your friends, you ask if I'm trying to get into her pants...

The first time I cooked you dinner, you ate it all up and said that a man who can cook is soooo sexy...
Now...you frown and ask if it is not emasculating for a man to cook, and why don't we just eat out...

The first time you saw my dog, you exclaimed that she was the cutest thing alive, besides me that is...
Now...the flea bag should stay outside and so what if you forgot to feed her...

The first time we argued, you cried and said we should think of all the good things we have together...
Now...you dig up all the bad history and say you have nothing further to say to me...

(In case anyone thinks this is directed at Da woman...it's not!! It's just a reminder to myself that I should never take her for granted...)

Great for you! Da woman is one lucky lady.
Have A Wonderful Weekend With Da Woman.

btw, when all those above happened, time to pack the bag and celebrate FREEDOM!
Hey hey sweetie...long time no hear...how goes??

Firstly...nooo, my dear...I'm the lucky one...we were having pizza the other night at one of the keys (kuey??)...and I messed with mine...you know...folded the thing in half and slapped on enough chilli flakes and tobasco sauce to burn down the house...anyhoo...I had cheese running down my fingers and chin...a big Val Kilmer looking ang mo dude, who sat across from us and had been flirting with Da woman for almost half an hour, shook his head and said to her...you can do so much better....Da woman leaned in, hugged me, grabbed my hand and smiled at him...better than him? Never...and then proceeded to lick cheese off my fingers...Mr. Kilmer's eyes looked like they were popping out of the sockets...heh heh...she's just so sweet...(as oppose to me being plain cheesy... )

Secondly...errmm...not sure if it's that easy to just walk out...these things develop slowly...and before one knows it...it's part of life....

Errmmm..sweetie...while I see your point, may I respectfully remind you that Da woman belongs to the very group you're talking about??

As I've always said...there are good and bad in every group...no need to castigate the whole group because of a few bad apples...okie??

It's okie sweetie... no foul...infootball terms, we call it simulation...

I do understand the feeling though...it's getting out of hand...in one of my earlier post, I did say that Da woman got the job when a few of my Singaporean friends didn't, and they were better qualified than she is...nevertheless...what can one do?? Our gov...oppps...our board of directors at SG Inc. made a decision that foreign is always better...but...we have a choice...we just have to decide if we want to take it...for me...I'm going to migrate...give up this useless citizenship...then if I care to...come back as an expat...and demand higher pay and better perks (at least a condo, if not a landed property...plus early release from work so I can hang out at Orchard Towers...and no N.S for my sons...once I'm no longer a Singaporean...I'll have a dozen sons...for my own football team you understand... )...this is the way the game is played..we can either play it or move away...

btw...how did the promise of 30,000 new local jobs at the proposed casino drop to half that amount 2 years before the damn thing is to be built?? Does this mean that on completion, there'll be around 2 jobs left for the locals??

WOW! What an education I'm getting. This is the kind of feedback/discussion you've been talking about wanting for a long time. You must be in hog-heaven. It's interesting that it comes following a fairly emotional discourse on how relationships deteriorate. I agree totally that it's not always easy/possible to get away from a bad relationship. That is part of my life after all. I can't address the political aspects of the comments, as I don't know anything about it (but I am interested in learning) It does seem that often "I'll love you forever" turns into "I can't stand the sight of you" (or worse). It's sad and a reminder to work on relationships we care about.

Hahahaha...sweetie...may I refer you to a Meat Loaf song..."Paradise by the Dashboard Light"...

It starts by a boy thinking back on his first date by the lake, with a girl who has the best 17 yo body in their school...it's so nice that he thinks it's 'Paradise by the Dashboard Light'...

"Cause we were barely seventeen
And we were barely dressed

Baby doncha hear my heart
You got it drowning out the radio
I've been waiting so long
For you to come along and have some fun

And I gotta let ya know
No you're never gonna regret it
So open up your eyes I got a big surprise
It'll feel all right
Well I wanna make your motor run"

He wanted some heavier action but she says no...

"Stop right there!
I gotta know right now!
Before we go any further--

Do you love me?
Will you love me forever?
Do you need me?
Will you never leave me?
Will you make me so happy for the rest of my life?
Will you take me away and will you make me your wife?"

To which he replied...

"Let me sleep on it
Baby, baby let me sleep on it
Let me sleep on it
And I'll give you my answer in the morning..."

But she won't give in...so he eventually says...

"I couldn't take it any longer
Lord I was crazed
And when the feeling came upon me
Like a tidal wave
I started swearing to my god and on my mother's grave
That I would love you to the end of time
I swore that I would love you to the end of time!"

And then there's a guitar solo...I guess represents the passing of time, back to the present??...after which...he sings...

"So now I'm praying for the end of time
To hurry up and arrive
Cause if I gotta spend another minute with you
I don't think that I can really survive
I'll never break my promise or forget my vow
But God only knows what I can do right now
I'm praying for the end of time
It's all that I can do
Praying for the end of time, so I can end my time with you!!!"

Then the song fades into...

Boy:
"It was long ago and it was far away
and it was so much better than it is today"

Girl:
"It never felt so good
It never felt so right
And we were glowing like
A metal on the edge of a knife"

...it's fantastic...almost like an opera...one of my fav rock songs ever...what can I say...Jim Steinman is a bloody genius!!!!
(sorry if it cuts a little close...just so you know...this song was written before 1977...and it still holds true today....)

As to the politics...there's a site with amazing info...wx3 dot yeocheowtong dot com...don't believe everything you read...and be careful with whatever you believe...and they wonder why many of us are trying our best to migrate....

I LOVE THAT SONG!!! Meatloaf had a lot of really thought provoking songs! Ever hear "two out of three ain't bad".
Hey youngster, I remember when that song came out! Makes me wish I still had my record player! I'm going to have to see if Bat out of Hell is available on CD. You do make me feel a little old, though!
I'll check out that political site when I get back in town on Thursday. I'll also be looking to see what you've written in the meantime--- so get to work--- I want to hear the end of the perilous air trip.

It's too perilous??
--Look, it's my duty as a knight to sample as much peril as I can.
No, we've got to find the Holy Grail. Come on.
--Oh, let me have just a little bit of peril?
(Monty Python and the Holy Grail)

The peril in this scene is of course a house full of wanton young maidens....sorry if you don't get it...it's a British thing...

How can I not know that song...

"Baby we can talk all night
But that ain't getting us nowhere
I told you everything I possibly can
There's nothing left inside of here
And maybe you can cry all night
But that'll never change the way that I feel
The snow is really piling up outside
I wish you wouldn't make me leave here

I poured it on and I poured it out
I tried to show you just how much I care
I'm tired of words and I'm too hoarse to shout
But you've been cold to me so long
I'm crying icicles instead of tears..." (M

Sad and true and it gets to my heart each time I hear it...especially after a break up where I just knew that I couldn't love her the way she needed me to...

Hahahaha...I have the album both in vinyl and cd...
