Totaled and Trapped

Well, didn't get any pictures of the truck before they towed it away. sometimes I think I am real stupid, let me just add it was the nicest truck/car I have ever had. Last sat. I pulled out...didn't see the other car, I was spun and slammed up over a light pole and they totaled the whole thing and it was enough to cover the loan, but we had the special insurance. So they will pick up the rest of the loan...about 4,000. they are cutting the check for about 17,000. The worst part of this is I become more trapped in the house. I am asking if we are getting anything else but not really getting anywhere. So it will take me about 3 months before I can save enough for a junker. My has offered to drive me to work...just getting home will be a challenge.

That's rough. I totaled my truck back in Nov. and I'm still jumping through hoops to recover my lost wages. With my job not being your typical 9 to 5 type of work and the company payroll being done out-of-state it takes a little explaining to get people to volunteer the proper information. There is money your entitled to if you lost time from work due to injury via NYS No-Fault insurance.
Most insurance companies will cover a rental car for a short period of time and you can get a decent used car with as little as $500. down. It just takes a little shopping.
