Lose of a Grandchild...

Sept.7,2013...

I lost my 18 year old grandson on this day...He had just graduated and was going into the Coast Guard at the end of the month...

He was partying that night...For some reason he was driving someones car and headed home for some reason...Not sure if he went to sleep at the wheel or just lost control...The car hit a guardrail...Then a tree...I'm sure it was instant...

My grandsons name is Ryan Olds...He was loved by many friends and family...It has been a rough month for his family...I'm glad we got to visit often this summer...Now...I have many great memories to hold on to...I will love and miss him always...Sad we can not watch him grow into the wonderful young man we all know he was going to be...

Rest in Peace and know you are loved by all you touched in your short 18 years with us...

Thank you so much...It is so hard to lose such a young person...He was a very good young man...
I am not as close to my family these days...I am back in California...8 hours seem like a lifetime when things like this happen..I do worry about Ryans Mother...It is much harder on her than me...Her daughter is in Job Corp, and spends weekends with Jim and I...I think she will go be with her mother once she is finished with Job Corp...I think they both need each other...My 2 other girls try to keep her busy...Hard to do sometimes with them working...

Again...Thank you for your kind words and thoughts...You have always been a great friend...
