HEY ! Where do I put my feet?
Hey? Where do I put my feet?

Around seven years ago, a good friend passed off into the spirits of the night and left his beloved Border Collie to me.

So she, the Border Collie, has been with me for seven years. She--Katy-- was three years old at the time Dale died.

When Katy first came to me, I had two other older dogs that Katy make rapid friends with. Sadly, first one of the dogs died of old age, and then a couple of years later, the other one also died, leaving Katy as my only dog.

Katy is a social and likes other animals. So..... last summer, I bought her a puppy. A purebread Chesapeake Bay Retriever... Lou. Katy is now ten years old, and took Lou to her heart. They adore each other and are inseparable.

Lou is now 12 months old, and looks almost exactly like a chocolate lab.
He's long and lanky and weighs around 80 pounds. When he stands up on his long hind legs he reaches my chin, and likes to lick my patch of whiskers there. When I first got Louie, he was only the size of my foot!

Both dogs sleep outside together at night, but during the heat of the day, I bring them inside with me where it's cool and quiet, without the glare of the Mojave's sunshine.. The trouble, is both of the sweethearts like to be as close to me as possible, and crowd under my desk where my Dell desktop computer is located.

So, the essence of this posting is that I'm having trouble writing my posts to Local Sexy Swingers, 'cause I can't sit at my desk and write as I normally do... Bear with me, my friends, and I'm sure I'll come up with a solution to my posting on this site soon... love you all....

 I really do love the very large stretched screen on my Dell Desktop... But...I have considered a laptop..

Today those guys are outside. The temp. here is amazingly cool today for so far into May,,,dave

I agree completely with you about dogs. I love them with a spriritual quality, and have always had a dog by my side. I wish their lifespans were longer. I've had 16 dogs live with me here on the desert. They all started as puppies and lived their entire lives here... Perhaps the two I have now--especially Lou, the big lanky puppy, will be my last.. If he lives to be 16 or 17, I'll be well into my 90's.. Thanks for your nice comment..david

 Those are two amazing 'amigos' you have and they must give you hours of fun, friendship and comfort. I realise they can be hard work at times and have their 'moments' but I would never swap the 16 years I was blessed with my wee pal, before she passed away a year ago. (a very clever/funny Yorkshire Terrier)
