AS MY LIFE WINDS DOWN---have I learned a fu---ng thing?

AS MY LIFE WINDS DOWN---have I learned a fu....g thing?

NADA! I'm still as naive as I was as a young dick sucker working in the Melrose bath house at 23.

Life involves a combination of mostly MONEY... (let's face it those who GOT, don't live the way we other 99 percent do).

A large portion of our lives is spent trying to satisfy our human appetites. Mine, my appetites, have always involved a lot of SENSUALITY... How I've FELT has always influenced my actions probably more than anything else.

RELIGION...for me, religion is the biggest scam in the world. It's a total croak.
I expect when my on/off switch is finally thrown, it will be "lights out", and that will be that..Sleep for the rest of eternity...

LOVE.. Yeah, the big L. I've been in love with women-- mostly-- and it was always a form of insanity for me. I've Loved all the dogs I've had, and my love for them has been what priests, and religious nuts would term spiritual love. Many times in my life, I've felt more of a connection with animals than with other humans. When my big, new dog, Lou, climbs as far up on my lap as he can, with most of him hanging off me 'cause he's too big to fit on me the way he did as a puppy, and lays his big head gently against my chest, and I pet him softly and whisper to him what a good, big guy he is, everything in my world, then, is illuminated in a white light. Perhaps I'm more spiritual than I'd like to believe?

Now don't get all joyous and into big celebrations because you think I'm telling all you uptight heterosexuals that I'm getting ready to kick off.. 'cause as far as I know, and feel, I'm heading for a healthy, still on my feet, century of living in this strange land. It's all a blast for me, and it always has been that way, even through all the little downfalls that life seems to put in front of all of us humans--and I suspect animals too...

Know that in my weird individual way, I love all you guys...Especially those who take the time to leave me comments on this blog page...

I really cannot think of any sort of afterlife that makes even a glimmer of sense and still allows for me to be me. Like you I figure when I am gone, I am gone but I make no pretense of knowing.
A Robert Heinlein character had a good comment on Religion. "Shaman is a great gig, if you have the stomach for it."
Yes, absolutely! If my ending is not too painful, I think I'll look forward to trying to see beyond the shadows as they begin to creep over my eyes.

If you see me in the real world, come say "Hi Justskin."

I always behave. Preferably not well.

For me, Dave, I believe there is something after death. It's a long story that maybe one day I'll write about.

Religions are mostly fucked up. Many of the concepts are good, but have been twisted in practice.

I know just what you mean about the dog.
I certainly hope you're right, Wizard! It seems a shame for us to go into nothingness with all the stuff we've learned during this life. As someone , somewhere, once wrote..."The death of each person is the burning of an encyclopedia. "

It doesn't bend my mind at all to wonder where I was before birth... College friends will pale as you grow up..
