ARE YOU INTERESTED IN THE SUMMER GAMES? I'm not. I'm not even able to think of Rio de Janeiro as a safe and comfortable place for the summer Olympics. All the bad publicity in recent news has soured me on the place. Things like the Zika virus, the abundance of robberies and kidnappings there, the poverty in half the city, together with the insane way the city pours it's raw sewage into the bay, is all pretty disgusting to me. Rio de Janeiro is not a place that should have even been considered for the Olympics to be played in. Even if Rio was more of a safe, healthy, and better run city, I probably still wouldn't be able to get my head around the "games". Organized sports just don't turn me on. Latin America hasn't been big on my list of places I'd like to travel to, either. About the only trips I've made in that part of our world have been to Baja California when I was much younger and more adventurous. In truth, organized sports have always been about as interesting to me as organized religion.... NADA ! I'm not saying the summer games way there on the West coast of Brazil are not a big deal for all the young athletes competing. I'll probably watch some of the competitions on the flat screen, but I'm much more interested in the Trump, Hillary election "Olympics" going on in our country. by david stardust... I suspect you are right about how many would love to see the men in skimpy suits but for the impure thoughts they would provoke. Also that many are also scared to death their sex drives So many are told that sex is sinful and even married sex should not be enjoyed. Women in particular. After all an "accident might lower their trade value to the family. Yes that is Medevial. Women are also taught they are not to notice or admit noticing a man's package, tight butt or even broad shoulders. Prudes are a sad case as I believe the worst ones have thwarted strong sex drives. Thus they have very dirty thoughts that are made more acceptable by using them to accuse nudists and incorrect dressers. Just pointing out depravity.  I should note that I am talking generalities here and by no means saying it applies to all. As you so accurately wrote in a previous comment, Justskin, Humans are not rational.!!

I bet if the deep truth could be known a lot of both men and the women would have secretly loved to have seen the men in speedos and with no shirts on. You're right on the mark when you wrote that humans are not logical. Many of them are also scared to almost death of their own sex drives too, I believe. Prudes are a sad case as I believe the worst ones have thwarted strong sex drives. Last Olympics I noted that the Women's beach volleyball players wore skimpy little briefs and sports tops but the men wore mid-thigh shorts and tank tops. Did a poll asking if the women were expected to wear such would they like the men in speedos? No one wanted to women to wear more (Understandable for the men but women?) and there were very few votes for the men to wear less. As the guys in that sport are very fit I expected at least a lot of votes for the guys to go topless. Even had some women sounding horrified at the idea of men in speedos. Humans are not logical.

You sound like a good person to me, Oldtar.. Actually I never met a Marine until I moved out on this desert in 1976.. I was in the Army Infantry... The 1st Battle Group, 18 th Infantry, out of Fort Riley, Kansas... We were stationed in Mannheim, Germany in the late 1950's to hold back the Russians when they attacked (shades of the old Cold War) .. We were all Regular Army, all volunteers, and the last of the 1500 man battle groups that were all volunteers and stayed together for 3 years.

My answer is HELL NO! I think the games and athletes are overrated. There is too much emphasis on winning no matter what it takes. And if cheating is such a big concern for the games then they are really accomplishing what they are supposed to.

I really appreciate the friendship we've developed through the past few years via comments and our blogs, Justskin! I just wanted to tell you that .. With the sudden death of my old friend Rick, it made me appreciate the people around me who are just wonderful human beings. . The pictures you put up a while ago of Devil's Lake were really wonderful. I can see you in my mind's eye with your arm around some gorgeous woman.. I bet there are a lot of them who would gladly like you to do more to them then just put your arm around them, too. !! I'm pretty sure your area is much more conservative than mine here on the desert is.. Probably, the things I get away with down here would land you in trouble up there! I also stay away from the guys who only want to talk about sports.. I find sports overrated , and the professional hero's of football, baseball, and basketball, so vastly overpaid for playing a game, that it blows my mind. Of course that doesn't mean I would be against blowing them, lol !

I agree that the Olympic Committee kind of missed on some of the "must haves" when they gave the slot to Rio. Of course, with the scandals surrounding that group gave may be the wrong word. Like you I am not into organized sports at all. This may be one reason I find it more difficult talking to men. Not real good at small talk with them as most default to sports. Will be a nicely warm day again so am off to Devil's Lake again. Went yesterday and wore my very skimpy and thin Speedo briefs. Had quit a number of requests by young and not so young women to have my pic taken with them. It is fun and as I get to put my arms around them; Why not? Have a great day today David.
