Remeniscing

I would like to qualify this as I am not a poet, but I recall a time long ago that a girlfriend of mine had done to me, actually nothing, but she did make me think allot about myself and what I wanted. I knew what I wanted from her, but I also knew that she would not let me, nor give me, what I wanted. So, I came up with this -

I wish, I know

I wish you could see through my eyes.
I wish you could see the beauty that I see in your smile.
I wish you could feel the feelings I have for you.
I wish you would let me do what I can to gain your trust.

But, I know you have your own agenda and it doesn't involve me.
I know you'll say one thing and do another, knowing I would wait.
I know you'll only see me when there is money involved.
I also know you look at me with a very skeptical eye and would never trust a buffoon like me.

I know they say love is blind, and for me that is fine.
I wish to thank you for opening my eyes, and seeing trust is deep and wide, but never easily divined.
