I have recently seen a few things that just make me go, hmmmmmmmm? and wonder why it is that anyone would put up this kind of stuff.

1.) Your having youself a great time in a room. Your busy sucking, and fucking, but while your doing your favorite activities you get little snide comments here and there from a particular party.

Now, as an individual, I can see throwing someone like that into the iggy box and forgetting the person.

Now, lets add a twist to this, say your a mod that is getting these kind of snide comments while your playing, do you ban them, or just iggy them. I guess either action would work, though one is more personal, and would let everyone else enjoy that person regardless of how you feel about them. While on the other hand, if that person is just out to give you a hard time and doesn't care about anyone else, then by all means they deserve to be banned.

Now, lets add another twist to this (hmmmmm, I would rather be twisting something else instead of my brain), say the person giving you the snide comments is the owner of another room and is good friends with the owner you are a mod for. You go ahead and ban them from the room for causing the un-necessary drama, but only to see that person back a day later. Personally, I would go to the owner and ask them why is the person I banned back in the room. (This begs the question of why have mods for your room if the owner is not going to back them up?) They tell the owner that they were sorry and that they would never do it again, I would be highly skeptical and I would tell the owner, if I got any more snide comments about me or a person I am with, that either they ban the person, or I would leave the group. It would be as simple as that. And regardless of the reasons for the snide comments, they should not be tolerated by anyone and therfore they should not be allowed to return. And if they have a beef still with that person, then they should take it up in a public room, or someplace where the fight can be moderated by a 3rd person. If things need to be said, they need to be said.

2.) Different situation, say you into doing BDSM, and your acting out a Dom/sub situation. And while you are doing this, you ingore the requests of another person to cyber. A few days later, you meet up with that person and they berate you for not giving them any attention, and there are mods present that let this go. You defend yourself to this person saying you were following the protocol of the situation such as not speaking to another person without permission. And as you defended yourself, another steps in backing you up and then a mods steps up telling that person to back off.

Now, to the mods that were present for this, this isn't to say the mods are actually present. We all know that even though your handle may be on the rooming list, it doesn't necessarily mean you are there. The thing is that the person that defended themselves should not have had to do it in the first place, a mod should have stepped in and told the other person to shut up and leave it alone, and that if they keep it up they would be banned. Now this did not happen and it begs the following questions:

a.) Why have rules about drama, or anything else, and not enforce them?

b.) If your mods are not going to enforce the rules, but instead tells someone to back off during a situation, then why have mods?

c.) If your the owner, and your mods are doing the exact opposite of what they are supposed to do, then why have a room with no real control?

Now there are other things involved in this, but this is the jist of the situation. Personally, I would have banned the person that berated the other, and I would have stripped and banned that mod that stepped in and said to back off. Its not right and should never have happened.

 I am a believer that the mods in a room in the groups area should not only uphold the rules but should model proper behavior as outlined by the rules of the room . The most effective way to ensure rules are followed is to model proper decorum . If rules say not to interupt or to use brackets when saying hello to those scening then by all means all the Mods owner or not should follow and etc .as far as the situations are stated .....banning should always take place if one member is dealing with a verbal assault
