Rant

There are a few things that get under my skin, and I usually do not say a word about them, but I have to say something about this.

I have met a person that lives in this country and for some reason hates this country. Since I have spoken with her she seems to think we are going to become a communist country, and when asked about providing reasons for her conclusion she give lame examples that have nothing to do with any country becoming communistic in history.

So, let’s look at what "communism" is -

By definition communism is:

1.) A theory or system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common, actual ownership being ascribed to the community as a whole or to the state.

2.) (often initial capital letter) a system of social organization in which all economic and social activity is controlled by a totalitarian state dominated by a single and self-perpetuating political party.

3.) (Initial capital letter) the principles and practices of the Communist party.

Taking definition #1, IMO is totally an idealistic social structure, and in fact from what I understand, has no structure. And in this country, we value our property just a little too much to give it up to a "state" let alone a "community." I can see this leading to a war right off the bat, because we as a group of people need someone to lead, and ultimately to blame as well. Being able to blame someone gives justification to those that believe that a wrong has been corrected. If you look at WWII, we had Hitler, Mussolini, and Hirohito, and when we defeated them all we felt the world was a better place for it, and we were not the only ones that thought that way.

Now definition #2, this I believe is what she was referring to in that we are heading to a social, economic, and political, structure completely dominated by 1 party. I still can't see how she reaches for this, but I think this is her line. One of the great things about this country is that we can have differing opinions on how it is ran, and not have to go to war over it. Every 4 years there is a smooth transition of power from one elected official to another. Now, I do not see how we, as a people, or a country, would give up our right to select a leader of this country, or allow only 1 party to exist in our government. This government was established at the consent of the governed, and has existed longer than any of the other current governments in the world. Our history shows that we have had many differing opinions, and it has been the compromises we have worked out that have kept this country going. Only once in our history were the opinions differed so bad that we have to go to war with ourselves to resolve it, and like battling siblings we fought long and hard to come to a conclusion over who was right.

And definition #3, I must admit there is a communist party here, but they have no political power, and no one would ever vote a communist into power on the national political stage. So, the point on this is that, it really doesn't apply.

So to the person, that hates this country and thinks it will become communist, I say this - GET OUT!!! NOW!!! Don't wait; don't let family keep you here, just get out. If you think you'll have it better outside my country, then get out. What really irks me is my father defended your right to bitch (if you voted) for 30 years in the US Navy, my mother served for 6 years in the US Navy, and I served for 6 years in the US Navy as well. And even though I respect your right to bitch, you don't have that right to bad mouth my country and say it's going to be communist.

To those that will read this, I welcome and respect any corrections to any statement I have made that may have been false. All I am trying to do is make a point.

 I am a Navy bratt also , was raised navy my dad in for 30 years ; my brother died in the Navy after 15 years in . SO many in my family have served their country either in the navy or the Marines ...so I tend to believe in the notions they fight to protect ; and I never take it for granted
