In Seattle

I’m now in Seattle for a meeting. I flew in this afternoon, have a two day meeting, then fly back out on Thursday. Mechanical problems caused me to miss a connection, so this is making a long day of travel several hours longer. Misery loves company, though, and I do have a co-worker with me on this trip suffering through the same troubles.

My original flights were Indianapolis to Chicago, then Chicago to Seattle. When I missed my connection in Chicago, United rebooked me automatically on a flight from Chicago to … Denver! In Denver I caught a flight to Seattle.

Denver just keeps showing up in my travel plans. Returning from San Diego on August 13th, I had a layover in Denver, and while there I volunteered for a longer layover (about 6 hours) in return for a free ticket voucher. I am using that free ticket to fly out to Denver on September 17th for Ms. Lawless’ birthday party. Yeah!

Ms. Lawless was in Grand Rapids during that long layover, or I would have begged her to come get me and take me to a matinee at The Mon. It occurred to me then that it was too bad that I didn’t collect a few while I was out in Denver at the end of July. For some reason, I didn’t think of it at the time ‒ probably was distracted by all of the nudity!

This is only my second time in Seattle, the other being when I flew into the city, then drove up to Vancouver for a conference. At the time I did that, flights to Seattle were about $300, while a flight to Vancouver was $1200. Considering all the work I’ve done lately with employees of Boeing, you would think that I would have been here more often.

I am very excited about this trip. First off, I enjoy travel the most when I get to go with a group of my co-workers, and this Seattle conference will have at least seven of my co-workers attending it. Much better than that, I have made tentative plans to meet another Local Sexy Swingers member, Christylovesfun. Like Ms. Lawless, Christy has a great profile that is worth checking out just to do so, and she also has a great blog.

I find that I very rarely have time to read other people’s blogs on here, but I’ve started watching for new posts from Christy. For the past several months Ms. Lawless has been sending me great blog posts, particularly about open relationships, from a number of people on here. Blogs from Christy, PaganPrincess, and PhillyGirlinDC have been the most frequent.

Ms. Lawless has struck up a great cyber-friendship with Christy. They post on each other’s blogs routinely. When I found more than two months ago that I was going to this conference in Seattle, I talked to Ms. Lawless about flying out to Seattle after she was done in Lancaster, PA, and spending Labor Day weekend with me there. If she was game for that, I had planned to see if Christy and her husband’s schedule would work out for a meeting.

Those plans never materialized because two other friends of Ms. Lawless, jim69inch and Softn, were making plans of their own to go to Sun Aura nudist resort near Indianapolis over Labor Day weekend. They invited Ms. Lawless to join them, and she invited me.

When Ms. Lawless asked me, I wasn’t sure whether I was going to be able to go. Would I be able to work out arrangements for my to be with their mother that weekend? We are supposed to alternate holidays, and she had them for the Fourth of July, so Labor Day was my turn. I checked with my ex, and she was okay with taking them for Labor Day weekend, too. One of the great things about my ex is that, when it comes to the , she’s very devoted.

The second concern I had about that weekend was that it was the start of college football season. My alma-mater’s team (the University of Louisville) had a home game that Saturday against Indiana State, and I have missed very few UofL football games since going to school there in the early 1980’s. I clearly couldn’t be in the raw with Ms. Lawless, jim69, and Softn north of Indianapolis, and also in attendance at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium, at the same time, so I had a choice to make.

As I thought about it, I realized that I had already made my choice. My heart’s desire was to be with Ms. Lawless, because I had previously asked her to join me over the Labor Day weekend in Seattle. Conflict solved.

So I have a great week ahead of me: First, there is the conference with co-workers in Seattle. I have already told them that I will be busy meeting a friend on Tuesday night, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that everything will work out, and I will get to meet Christy. And Thursday evening, a few hours after I return from Seattle, I will pick up Ms. Lawless at the airport and then take her to Bedford for a day and two nights. On Saturday, we will make our way up to Sun Aura to meet with jim69inch and Softn for the weekend.

This is going to be fun!
