Hula Hoop
Hula Hoop I bought a hula hoop yesterday, thinking it would be a fun way to improve my stomach muscles. I thought it would be easy, but it's HARD! Most of the time, I can only get it to rotate about 10 times, before it slides down my body and hits the floor. My all-time record is 24 rotations. |

It's amazing how something we were able to do with ease as a child seems harder than rocket science once we are grown up. LoL Similarly, I used to be able to do a few hundred sit-ups without breaking a sweat. Now however, I'd be lucky to beat your record of 24. Best of luck getting the hang of the hula-hoop down. Skipping rope is something I used to be able to do easily as a kid, but now it seems so hard!

Hi Trainmepls1, My name is Jim and I'm new to your blog. I found your link from the group Younger Women and Older Men. So I thought I would check out your profile and read your blog. I recently joined a gym and have been working out trying to get my 56 year old body back in shape. I like your idea of using a hula hoop to work the abs. It might take awhile to get the movement down, but I can't see why it wouldn't work. Thanks again for the idea. Have a great weekend. Happy Valentines Day. Jim

Gotcha on never being good at the hula hoop. I too never mastered doing it either. - However, I never really tried too hard to use a hula hoop. Hugs and well placed kisses - Chris

Hey! I got it! I have to shift my weight more from side to side than back to front. Now I can go for several minutes, without the hoop sliding down.
