Lower right is my choice. I like the contrast between the ground level clap board siding and the cedar shingles of the second floor.

I like the top far right as I am looking at them. #3. There is more attention to detail on the 2nd story which gives the house a more balanced look. I'm not certain what that is left of the front door, but it should not be highlighted and should just blend in. I like the rock/stone look at the foundation. I recently had the house I purchased renovated and I liked the stone so much I used more of it and ran it vertically in different areas.

It's kind of hard to tell from the small pictures, but the front door is in a porch that sticks out from the main body of the house. By default it'll be highlighted. Or do you mean the things that are on the wall? There's a small window, a mailbox and a porch light there, too. Maybe it's the white window trim on the porch window that's standing out too much?

This is so funny. The bottom middle one seems to be the favourite, and that was the very first one I came up with. Beginners luck, I guess!

My favorite from the start has been the center left, with center right being a close second. The problem with the center right option is that it's impractical (and expensive!) to use real cedar siding on the whole house (and I hate the look of a cedar facade and cheap plastic clapboard on the rest of the house).
.
I agree with chiendechecs1, the hand-split cedar of the center left example is the traditional Cape Cod bungalow look and is in total keeping with the style of the house...in fact, I think it was painted wood shingles that were covered by the white aluminum siding that's on the house now.

I thought you didn't like the middle right one anymore. Since it's not real cedar siding, the siding (fiber cement) would be the same all the way around the house.

I like the "log cabin" look, but if it's going to be artificial siding, I think the more authentic look of the [fake] hand-split cedar is better...wood-COLORED siding isn't the same as wood siding, but the hand-split cedar look is better for me than plain siding, as long as we can't get something that looks like logs!

I'm a traditionalist when it comes to Architecture. Have a Cape Cod look like a Cape Cod. The top left and bottom left seem very attractive and help keep the house in line with a traditional Cape Cod style.

That's just me.

Which one do you like?

I think my favourites are the four on the corners. Although, I really like the blue in the top middle and bottom middle. I just haven't come up with a combination using that colour that really excites me. I think we've pretty much settled on the middle one in the left column, minus the fake starburst decoration above the attic window.

Amazing, we like the same 2 for the same reasons
