let it grow until full grown and budding... and sell it to the person that gave you the seeds...make sure that it has a mate.. it takes two..
Nobody gave us any seeds. I went out the other day to mow the lawn, and I just saw it growing there. Honest! There ARE two plants, however...

I just now came across ditch weed when I googled "does marijuana grow wild" and you're right. It won't get you high. It'll just give you a headache. But what if it came from a seed from a "real" plant that someone happened to drop on our lawn? How do you tell the difference?

You might be right! There's a kind called "Sulphur Cinquefoil, Sulphur Five-Fingers, Rough-fruited Cinquefoil (Potentilla recta)" that looks just like my picture. The site where I found a picture of it even says this: "The marijuana-shaped leaf gives rise to the common name of the genus (Five-fingers)."

I think Rockyfrozen is right. Marijuana is a taller plant with longer leaves, and the stems aren't as hairy. The plant in my lawn is really close to the ground and small, so it must be potentilla. Oh, well.

Not sure what it is, but let it grow and see what develops. Who knows, one could get lucky, and high.

If it is potentilla, it'll send up a flower stalk and make some pretty yellow flowers. The two plants are still growing, and I think I'll try to go around them next time I mow. If they get more noticeable though, some curious neighbourhood kid will probably pick them and try to smoke them.

IF you smoke that you might get a head ache and sore throat from smoking your average broad leaf ground cover. No ummmm medicinal values in that weed

OK, so whatever did you find-out about this mystery?

rm_trainmepls1 replies on 4/13/2013 9:17 am:
It was definitely potentilla. It bloomed later that summer with yellow flowers. It'll be interesting to see if it comes up again this summer.
