And that's what wonderful memories are all about, recalling the magic we shared

Drop in and visit my blog sometime, but you'll probably regret it

I sometimes wish there was a door we could slip through, to revisit these times. But there is, isn't there. Just close your eyes and let your memory lead you back.

Memories are great aren't they! We did that sometimes when I was a kid too.

It's a little different now not sitting in the back of a wood-paneled station wagon. (We used to fight over who got the way back seat)

Cool memories make the holiday season special

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

It was sharing with the ones you love that create truly special memories.

Such wonderful memories of Christmas past. My favorite memory has always been those nights close to Christmas when the church choir would roam the streets in the wintry evening to sing Christmas Carols. The older children among us were always invited to accompany the group, as we would run ahead, ring all the nearby doorbells, and announce that "the carolers are coming"! The picture of the group, each bundled in their warmest winter coats, scarves closely hugging their necks, hats with dangling ear-flaps perched on their heads, galoshes with open buckles covering their shoes, huddled under a streetlight against a backdrop of gently fluttering snow as they harmonized a refrain from Hark the Harold Angels Sing is indelibly etched in my memory. Then back to the warmth of one of the members homes for warm cider and Christmas cookies. A slice of Americana which has faded into the past, but is still alive in our memories.

Caroling around the village green, hot cider in shops, and tree lightings still happen up here in Vermont. Let's keep them going!

Well... I managed to be about high school age before our driving around to look at all the Christmas lights were no longer our annual activity. I think that drama or music activities took over and it exhausted me and my parents, so going out to look at the lights was just a past activity... until my mid-20's when I started doing it on my own.

I did it with my kids as they were growing up, but only when we were in the country. Most years, we tended to be out traveling between October and May, Christmas lights are not something that is normally done in Mexico, the country we were most often in...

Your blog is amazing! I love it. New watcher here. I hope you continue to write in the coming year. I am enjoying your writing immensely.

Kinda like if you watch the Lego movie and you think you are "the special" or "Wildstyle"...

Interesting analogy and sense memory.

thanks for the share...

Flight Facilities - "Crave You"

Why can't you want me like the other boys do?
They stare at me while I stare at you
Why can't I keep you safe as my own?
One moment I have you the next you are gone
Rehearsed steps on an empty stage
That boy's got my heart in a silver cage
Why can't you want me like the other boys do?
They stare at me while I crave you
I walked into the room dripping in gold
Yeah dripping in gold
I walked into the room dripping in gold
Dripping in gold
A wave of heads did turn, or so I've been told
Or so I've been told
My heart broke when I saw you kept your gaze controlled
Oh I cannot solve
Why can't you want me like the other boys do?
They stare at me while I stare at you
Why can't I keep you safe as my own?
One moment I have you the next you are gone
Rehearsed steps…
