Persephone
Persephone When did we decide that Eve tempted Adam with an apple? There is so much we have forgotten about what we once knew. I know, It was a pomegranate--- Persephone--- she was tempted too. Wanting, Garnet abductions No she would not whisper this, her soul revoked the want An exchange of sorts, for the forbidden tongue… Delicate kernels dwell Encased in subtle ruby leather Here was a dancing nymph, deep down drawn Cavern lust with glistening springs- a convex nightmare. Awakening, verdant growth springs forth on these Subterranean figments Abductor provocations, and to her nimble Thighs… Spreading… a concave thirst… Gleaming, pillaging The singular collector of a vast collection Her fingertips trace fierce Sighing trembling gossamer cobwebs… Take these, he whispered. Gently pushed them forward…mouth them, roll them, Any moment she might remember, but no… Leaping moistly Till pluck down off that chopping block, incised and deceptive Will you regret that moment, oh lovely chastisement mine? "Persephone" by Dante Gabriel Rossetti (Italian born) British Victorian Genre Painter (Pre-Raphaelite) 1860s |

I can't wait until Demeter rescues Persephone from the underworld... welcome my hallowed Spring the earth rebirths her bounty her pendulous fruit ripen She honors you. Is that your own verse or another? It's quite lovely. Indeed I so much identify with the meaning behind and the very spirit of Persephone. Do you like the painting I have selected, by Rossetti? I am enamored of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. Victorian aesthetics are so my thing! Best, MT
