Got A Room? Things are really bad. I work for a developer and sell homes. Well I try to at least, over the last 2 months We have had no sales, which means no closings, which means no cash flow. We are a small builder so its not like the big guys that can cover themselves during this market crash. I really don't know what to do? I feel like I cant bale out, but then again I am really worried. Plus no other New Home builders are hiring. We have a offer in to the bank for 3.3 million to purchase some 14 townhomes downtown that have been forclosed on. Will find out friday if we get it. Hopefuly we will if not..shit I dont know what. Please send postive thoughts that we will. Isnt it strange this community could go into forcloser but we are bidding on another that has. This is a crazy world. How is your job doing?  |

I read recently that Texas had the best economy in the U.S.They also said it has the most volatile economy in the U.S.It is a crazy world. Here in Canada,growth has been robust for a number of years.However cracks are appearing with the rise of fuel,food,etc.In Vancouver where I am, the building for the 2010 Olympic games is keeping construction going full tilt.Housing costs continue to rise although at a slower rate than previously.Jobs go begging and the homeless seem to multiply daily.When I say jobs...I mean all types.Starting positions to skilled trades and professional are in short supply. Tourism is at an all time low owing to the dollar.I'm afraid lean times are coming folks and now there is a whole generation who have never felt the crunch.

It's tough times out there, Darlin'. I just got back after 30 years away and can't believe the state of things. Sending you all the positive vibes I can muster. If you can spare a few, I'm job hunting right now.........
