US Supreme Court

I am glad the US Supreme Court seems to be getting more sensible. The recent decision on Obamacare showed common sense and awareness that a few words were not more important than the overall context of the law and the legislative intent.

The bigger deal is the gay marriage right which shows that Justice Kennedy is the swing vote to give human dignity and equality to gay and lesbians. Now the battle will move to individual states and employment discrimination. Nice to think that all humans deserve human rights. The religious who believe otherwise cannot control the civil rights that the law must grant to all equally.

Laws and courts do actually have a major impact on human beings and their rights and social status. A great day for human rights and a proud one for lawyers who made a big difference.

A refreshing bit of common sense and decency--twice in one week!

Happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have.

Amazing how the attitude toward gays has changed so dramatically in the last ten years. Even Ireland voters passed a law to allow gay marriage!
