Holidays SUCK 4 Lovers

I grew up loving the holiday season! As time passes...things change...relationships change...and thus begins new times and new chapters. This holiday season I won't be with my Luver and so my heart breaks. I've been through this before and everyone around me knows there is something off...something wrong...it's incredibly painful and the only thing that helps me keep my sanity is that I get to be with my . Tell me why you Luv or Hate the holidays?

Being in a similar situation (going through a divorce) I need to be discrete and so I feel ya. Holidays suck when you can't be with those company you most enjoy.

 Same thing here kind of. I enjoyed the day but my favorite person to hang out with has their own family although he would rather be with me as well.

 Well, if nothing else, it's nice to know that I am not the only one experiencing this. I separated from my ex last September, yet we still spent last years holidays together. This is my first Thanksgiving without the man in my life. He claims to be unhappy, which is obviously true given he sought me out, but yet there are still the holiday
parties, dinners, etc.. He's having fun, while I'm sad & lonely.

This is the very reason that I wasn't going to get involved with a married man. But when I met him, I couldn't say no.

So why?? Why does a married man get involved with someone? They must know that they are hurting both their spouse and the woman they get involved with, don't they? I believe it's virtually impossible to be as intimate as I am with my lover and not expect us to fall in love with each other. So then what? My married lover doesn't like the idea of me seeking companionship elsewhere, but that's kind of a double standard, don't you think??

All questions I will have the pleasure of dealing with over the next miserable 6 weeks of holidays!!

I wouldn't be so sure he's having "fun" at whatever he's at. For me it's just going through the motions. It's also hard to put up a front to those that know you as they see how unhappy you are and you continually have to pawn it off on some lame excuse "I'm tired from the drive"..."I'm not feeling well"... " I are too much turkey"... "Stress from work"... "I'm missing my lover something fierce" oops..how did that last one get in there? For me this holiday it's even worse knowing where she is and that she's the one having fun.

Why do married men do what we do? Knowing especially about holidays and special days being apart? I think it's that we would rather suffer through times like these and still have the many many many more wonderful times that we have with our lovers. Both my long term lovers also had birthdays at this time of year which makes it a double gut punch for me.
