Saturday Musings

Last couple of days at work have been hell dealing a particular customer rep. We have taken to refer to him as the DOE, Director Of Everything. A true legend in his own mind. Well yesterday I came home, threw some meat on the grill and had a couple of adult beverages. I'm not much of a drinker so after a couple of bourbon on the rocks I was mellowed out. Did some chatting with friends on here and at 9 pm laid down, alone mind you. Slept like a rock too. Until my bladder got me up at 2 am. Then I was wide awake. Came on line just to look around here and there, not much going on. Ended up leaving at 4 and having breakfast with the usual suspects this morning. I have given up soda and fried foods in the effort to los weight. And I tell ya the greasy eggs I used to enjoy didn't sit well with me. Maybe that's a good thing.
Anyway came back home and contemplating going to do wash or sleeping and doing wash later. I think sleeping is going to win this one.

 I'm usually down at my favorite café for breakfast on Saturday mornings, but I have a cold this week and don't feel like leaving the house.

Thankfully, I don't have any oddballs at the office to contend with, but I do have a friend that is struggling with his career and position in life. He hates his job and wants to go somewhere else, but he's 58 and no one will hire him... well, at least no one will hire him at the career level that he wants to be at.

He works in a different area from me and he IM's me about all the interviews he gets outside the company and how he never hears back from the company or the recruiter that he interviewed with. He cries in my beer about how his life sucks and that he is doomed to be stuck in a job that is beneath him. He's such a downer...

 I was married to one of those legends in his own mind types. YUCK!
Insomnia is no fun either.
Lets hope the M&G is a winner!
