 When I am a paying member or have enough points I email- it's better if I've been able to find out about them by seeing their profile and preferences or reading their blog.
I've contacted and interacted with many through the blogs- they're a great way to understand what others are like and the similarities you have.
I used to use IM but it's so unreliable. Winks have very rarely worked for me- people much prefer a message in my opinion because it shows you're really interested and not just clicking away when you're horny!
