as if

before her
this is me
he said
with his eyes
with his heart open
he would have
dropped at that moment
to his knees
to be understood
by her
for her to feel
who he was
she was a cashier
at a supermarket
she was beautiful
she was sweet
he knew her
in an instant
who she was
he could feel her
he paid
what he owed
and went on his way
as a tear
dropped from his eye
