Can you respect porn actors/actresses and sex workers?

It's something I'm still trying to wrap my head around. Someone gets paid for sex and has to report those earning on their taxes. But when you see this person in person, what are your thoughts?

Can you respect porn actors/actresses and sex workers?
Yes
No
I am still uneducated on what sex work is

Have you seen the Vice News article about the recent spat of porn star deaths? Some like August Ames being cyber bullied, others through drug abuse to which I'm sure could be attributed to depression. There's a lot of stereo types out there about sex workers.

Hi, I don't personally know porn-stars. But another type of this class are prostitutes.
I've known a good number of girls working in that field. That because I've been living in Amsterdam, working in a shop situated in the "Red Lights District", and because once I've saved a girl in Italy from an asshole who was trying to kill her.
So I had the occasion to know them, and I didn't knew that between there could have been so many fantastic people. After that I decided that there was nothing bad to have sex with them, so in some occasions I did so (few times and if not in a relationship, after 28 y.o. more or less).
An, when I was between 21-23, I've been asked in 2 occasions, by women, older than me by 10 years +o- to have sex being payed and I did it.

So, nothing more natural than respect them.

Depends what you mean by respect. I treat them with dignity as they are just another human trying to make their way through life. Respect is earned what they do is not really something to be admired but they serve a need. They should have to right of it to be considered a real job by the same token if it is then their wages are going to go way down.
