is love a parasite?

Nearly every one is looking for love in some form or another. a pen pall, drinking buddy, sex partner, marriage, so on so on.
But what is love. its a feeling yes. and most know when they are in love. but what is it?
Now im in no way saying im the foremost all knowing one. But ya ive been threw this a few times. and this is what i have found.

Trust. this is it. this is what a relationship is. it encompass all other traits people have come to think a relationship is based on. honesty, loyalty, so on so forth.

Trust is built. It starts at none and is gradually built until complete trust is reached. This building of trust is done by all partners in the relationship. But when trust is broken, ie lied cheated stole ......, it is broken. and trust must be repaired. but the truth of the matter is that once broken trust can never be completely repaired. The partner that lost trust, the one lied to , cheated on, ie the victim, is the partner that looses the trust. there trust is broken and must be repaired. but that trust is now tainted. the victim will always have that nagging whisper in the back of there mind. " is my partner doing it again. he has done this before." and as long as that whisper is there the trust is not complete.

Once trust is broken the relationship is doomed to fail. how long it takes is different for us all . some see it for what it is and will walk away. others will pore in there heart and soul to try and save it.

Ok ya i know your saying " this is supposed be about love" well here u go.

Love? what is it. as i see it. it is a reaction a need being filled. it really does not matter what kind of need. but a need non the less. and it seems some needs give more of a reaction than others ie sexual needs over a buddy talk type of need. and love feeds off trust. once trust is broken, love seems to fade. like it has taken that portion of trust that can not be repaired and consumed it. unlike trust. love can wax and wain. come and go. depending on the need being filled. but after love has consumed so much trust it is gone. the relationship is dead.

ok no i am not saying love made him do it. love did not make you lie, cheat, or what ever happened to break trust, so dont go there, own it if its yours.

so is love a parasite? does it destroy trust and kill relationships?

who knows, it maybe just one of my late night ramblings
