FTC settles against Local Sexy Swingers

Adult-Oriented Online Social Networking Operation Settles FTC Charges; Unwitting Consumers Pelted With Sexually Graphic Pop-Ups
An operation that foisted sexually explicit online pop-up ads on unwitting consumers has agreed to settle Federal Trade Commission charges that the practice violated federal law. The settlement bars the defendant from displaying sexually explicit online ads to consumers who are not seeking out sexually explicit content.
According to the FTC, Local Sexy Swingers.com, which touts itself as “The World’s Largest Sex & Swingers Personal Community,” and its affiliates use pop-up ads to drive traffic to its Web sites. Some of the ads have included graphic depictions of sexual behavior, exposing consumers, including , to sexually explicit images. Such ads were displayed to consumers who were searching online using terms such as “flowers,” “travel,” and “vacations.” In some cases, defendant’s sexually explicit ads were distributed using spyware and adware.
The agency alleged that the practice of displaying graphic pop-up ads without consumer consent was unfair, and violated the FTC Act.
The settlement bars the defendant from displaying sexually explicit ads to consumers unless the consumers are actively seeking out sexually explicit content or unless the consumers have consented to viewing sexually explicit content. It requires the defendant to take steps to ensure that its affiliates comply with the restriction, and end its relationship with any affiliates who do not comply. It also requires the defendant to establish an Internet-based mechanism for consumers to submit complaints. Finally, the settlement contains bookkeeping and record- keeping requirements to allow the Commission to monitor compliance.
The defendant named in the FTC complaint is Various, Inc., a California corporation doing business as Local Sexy Swingers, Local Sexy Swingers.com, and Local Sexy Swingers.com,
The Commission vote to authorize staff to file the complaint and stipulated final order was 5-0. The complaint and stipulated final order for permanent injunction will be filed today in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, San Jose Division.

Suspicious Increase in Nigerian, Phillipino, Russian Scammers in Local Sexy Swingers

I noticed a marked in crease in winks comming fro Nigeria (and other parts of Africa), The Phillipines an Russian ladies. Although ine cannot say that all people comming from these countries are scammers, a lot of of scams come from thsi countries and a sudden, out of the blue increase in e mails and winks comming tfrom there should be looked with some suspicion.

Bugs, Local Sexy Swingers and your experience here

This is a great site, without the bugs.
I noticed other sites that cannot hold a candle to this one, but are having a good share of the people I see here. Why, they deliver.
Is quite frustrating that in the middle of the actin you vido chat is cut short, or that you invites are not sent or that you stand alone IM rarely works.
This site do met a need. For many people who are very busy like me, it is a potential life saver.
But if the site is not ready for prim time, the money spent, is not worth it.
I would love this site to succeed. As an investment banker, it could very a great IPO, if the site is reliable and the experience made paying a premium justifiable.
