as the sun slips into slumber
the darkness starts to fall
my mind drifts away,
to a place in time
when my heart was aglow
where has the time gone?
what of the flame?
its but an ember now
yearning to be tamed
as a new day dawns
anticipation and excitement
awake once more
and the loneliness is gone

in my mind
there plays a song
a simple tune
with a sweet melody
i close my eyes
and think of you
as the drum beats quickens
so does my pace
my heart is captivated
as i can clearly see your face.

love is a funny thing
so it is said
it brings out the parts of us
that we all dread
we have been her before
the pain is so real
it has made our bodies numb
to this warmth that we feel
at least when alone
there is no-one to bring pain
our aloneness has a love of
its own, in an empty kind of way
a love of solitude
a love to be free
of all those burdens
relationships bring
at price would there be?
to lose this solitary feeling
that has made our souls free
to fly alone no-more
but to fly wing to wing
this togetherness could be
costly somehow it seems
but remember once more
to that love long ago
has there not been enough time
to let your feelings flow
once more to another
who returns them to you
once more to love again
and to be loved too
to share your solitude
with another lonely soul
together the two of us
can make our lives whole
two halves brought together
to bring joy once again

as i wake ,i wake alone and only the alarm disturbs the silence as the shower flows so does the silence as the day wears on so does the silence.when my day is done ,the silence is still there ;as i fall asleep the silence fades as my eyes close shutt,peace for a moment i have found
