l think many of us used to meet the stranger before the sensual connection will be made. We meet at the coffee shop or so. Some of them we are clicked , a few or many of them are not a mutual chemistry.
It is not wrong at all ! We can finish the conversation politely or check hand leave quietly and peace.
These are some ideas of the first date and practical when it's not work.

Don't - leave her or leave him ,like running away from fire. Very rude and your guest will remember you in the bad way.
Do- Leave her or him with decent manner. Check hand leave in good manner .Send her to the car, may be you see her car you may change your mind.
Don't - Run super quick and disappear in 3 seconds , some case even he/she has never say good bye. Just said l have to go. ( Fook you -i said in my mind)
Do- say nice to meet you , but sorry l have something to do after this, thank you.
Don't- say we are not work , you are fat, ugly, not pretty, not handsome, dirty bla bla bla. No need to say any nonproductive words if the first date seem unsatisfied. When we left and we will not follow up positively by phone or emails. Situation shown itself that we loss interested in each other.
Do- If you think the connection could be develop. You can follow up by phone or text. Or at least said about thank you for the meeting and coffee.If he/she do not reply back , it useless to follow up .

Don't - if you think the date was awful it will not work. You may text or email thanks for the drink or lunch or dinner.
